Timberline Lodge, already famous among tourists and movie moguls, has
found a new home.

The iconic structure is now one of a distinctive group of hotels, resorts and
lodges throughout the country.

RLK and Company, operators of Timberline Lodge announced it has been
accepted into the Historic Hotels of America, a program of the National Trust
of Historic Preservation.

Timberline was recognized for preserving and maintaining its historic integrity,
architecture and ambiance.

“The trend of cultural and heritage travel in America continues to grow,” said
Lawrence Horowitz, executive director of Historic Hotels Worldwide. “By
inviting Timberline Lodge into our collection of distinguished properties, we
are continuing to encourage historic preservation while at the same time
showcasing the lodge’s rich history. Our goal is to bring these historically
special hotels and their authentic experiences to the attention of the traveling
public.”

Timberline’s general manager, Mark Vincent was pleased with the recognition.

“Timberline Lodge is rich in history and architectural beauty,” Vincent said.

“We love to share this special place with others. What we offer our guests is a
quality, authentic, and memorable experience.”

Timberline Lodge is a National Historic Landmark. Built in 1937 by the Works

Progress Administration under President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal, the
lodge was created to be an alpine ski lodge.

Today, it is considered the quintessential American ski lodge, and Oregonians
in particular consider it a place to celebrate their lives in the mountains.

The lodge offers 70 guestrooms and Oregon’s only true ski in/ski out slopeside
lodging experience. It also boasts the longest ski season in North America.
